My name is Daw Than Myat Mon. I’m 37 years old and married to U Min Aung who does agricultural work. The average income from agricultural work is about 2,000,000 MMK ( Twenty Lakhs ) per year. I started borrowing loan since 2012 as the first activity. At that time, I borrowed 50000 MMK. With this amount, I open a grocery shop at my house selling only snacks. As I got experience in buying and selling snacks, I also started to my husband’s income to extend my business. With the income from this business, I managed to build a house. I still borrow money from the committee. I’ve borrowed loan 16 times and used it in my business. With the result that now I sell not only snacks but also the necessary household goods, vegetables / fruits and flowers.
This microfinance activity is very beneficial to people like me who want to set up their own business. I’m very grateful to the Nippon Foundation for donating a school building and for providing community development fund.
I pray that the donors be Happy and Healthy. I invite all of you to pay a visit to my village.
